My name is Silvia, I am a Communication Sciences graduate from the University of Bologna in Italy. I worked for several years as Marketing Coordinator, Community Manager and Press Officer in the video-game industry, then I decided to go freelance and now I mostly do translation, proofreading, and localization.
Since 2014 I worked for outstanding clients such as Twitter, Amazon.com, L’Oréal, Europecar, Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts, Michelin, Publicis Dialog, Webedia, Pernod Ricard and Doctors Without Borders. I collaborate with several language providers like Lionbridge, Translated.net, Welocalize, Edit-place and Tolq.com.
Due to my extensive experience in the video game industry, I was freelance journalist for an Italian video games magazine, free consultant at the Politecnico of Milan in Italy, helping students developing their video game start-up companies, managed a team of 20 moderators and a community of 300,000 users. I was also responsible for several Facebook and Twitter pages, companies CRM, held online contests and organizing events, conventions, meetings, festival, press conferences (up to 120,000 visitors), marketing campaigns at CPM, CPA and CPC. I managed press relationships, editors, and distributors while being entertainment organizer, podcast presenter, scriptwriter, and editor.
I am a great worker and I tend to over-work when I am on important and fascinating projects. I am extremely meticulous and precise, used to teamwork and I enjoy managing tiring and stressing situations. I am also an expert in crisis communication.
I have advanced knowledge of Office and Adobe packages and of Windows and Mac OS. I am capable of scripting in HTML and XML for the editing of press releases and the administration of blogs and websites.
In my spare time, I practice sailing, yoga, recup’art, gardening and I am an active member of a volunteer Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). I also give private Italian lessons.
